  • Did I Need a Skull Tiara?

The answer to this query is no. Did I buy a skull tiara? You know full well I did. Is it blingy to hell and covered in clear gemstones? Yep. Was it less that $30? It was…which is why I just couldn’t resist.

Me wearing a tiara made up of a series of small skulls.

I also recently got a new grouping of bath bombs and my first bath potion from Witch Baby Soap. I had never tried the bath potion before. I bought it in Little Boo which smells like Pumpkin, Marshmallow and crisped rice. Add a cap full or two to your bath water and it not only smells wonderful, but you get a bath full of bubbles! I love it! I was already in love with their bath bombs but now I will have to invest in bath potions as well.

  • My Halloween Purchases…so far

I love, love, love shopping during Halloween season! I get some of my best home goods during this time of the year. I haven’t gone as crazy in 2020 as I have in past years, but I have still bought some fun things.

From Michaels: I bought several pieces from their pastel line to live on my self-love altar.

From Home Goods/Marshalls the other day I bought a couple of pairs of Betsey Johnson Halloween Earrings.

I have picked up other little odds and ends, but nothing super fun and exciting. The season is not over yet, though.

  • Weekends are Skaterdays

    Weekends are Skaterdays

I am still madly in love with roller skating, which is not altogether shocking since I have loved it since I was a child. I skated both days this weekend and enjoyed every moment of it.

Yesterday I met my friends Amy and Christina at The Warehouse, which is a parking garage set up for skateboarding and roller skaters by a church. The floor is so ridiculously smooth and it was easy to skate on and to practice tricks and such. I met several more amazing skaters: Sparky, Alex and Faego.

Amazing sign on the wall at The Warehouse

Today I met Amy, Hannah and Jake at Como Elementary for a morning skate. Como has incredibly smooth asphalt as well, and I made a short video of me skating a circle in the court.

    I have a color scheme.

I recently put in an order for a new pair of skates, because mine are well over 16 years old. Skates are hard to come by right now, and mine are probably not going to be ready until early next year. I am excited for them though. I ordered Moxi Panthers, and they are a leopard print dream!

    Ack! So cute!

I am having so much fun falling back in love with skates and skating. I am going to work on rehabbing my vintage skate case over the winter and get it ready to house my new skates.

  • Welcome December…Blogmas Day 1 on Day 2

It is officially the holiday season!! I have been making little purchases here and there for a month, but now it is here and the decorations can finally go up now that Santa has paraded into Herald Square in the Macy’s Thanksgiving Parade. Here is a small collection of things that I purchased before I consider it acceptable to do so, lol.

I realized coming into Thanksgiving that I have 39 pairs of holiday socks. How? Why? So this year I decided to do 35 days of holiday socks beginning the day before Thanksgiving and going through the end of the year. So far I have worn brown stripey reindeer socks, snowflake socks, rampaging holiday dinosaur socks, Santa riding a unicorn socks, Argyle with a fleece cuff and holiday sloths.

The day after Thanksgiving Seth and I headed down to my hometown Newark (30 miles east of Columbus) for the lighting of the courthouse. Newark has a beautiful historic courthouse, and they go all out when they light it. Santa and Mrs. Claus are given a ride to the courthouse square on a firetruck, and then they lead everyone in carols for a bit. When the time is right they ask the children to make as much noise as possible to light the courthouse. It almost always takes three tries somehow. Now for the before and after.

  • Have the Lambs Stopped Screaming?

    Have the Lambs Stopped Screaming?

That title is loosely related to what I wanted to talk about today which is that it is finally chilly enough to wear the amazing Death’s Head Moth Cape that I bought from a local seamstress and fiber artist Rachel Walker.

In April at the Ashville Viking Festival my mom came up to me a told me she can’t believe I am not feeaking out about the death head’s moth cloak in that booth. I hadn’t even seen it. We went in and I made some kind of insane high pitched squee noise and asked if I could take it off to look at it. Rachel graciously allowed me to do so, and it was such a gorgeous work of art I knew I would have to have it.

I asked how much it was, and it was a bit above my ability to pay immediately ($300) so I asked if she would consider accepting payments. I could give $100 immediately and pay monthly through paypal for the rest. She agreed and I have never been so excited in my life. She still had some sewing she needed to do on the piece including adding me big pockets inside.

I actually picked it up at the Ohio Renaissance Festival the second weekend, but it has been so hot I have not gotten to wear it yet. I finally got to wear it this weekend and it is currently one of my favorite things.

  • Magickal Monday – Witchy Haul!

    Magickal Monday – Witchy Haul!

Happy 4th of July Eve to my American Friends! To everyone else Happy Magickal Monday!!

I have done some witchy shopping in the last couple of weeks, so I thought I would share some of my recent purchases.

From a little shop in Yellow Springs, Ohio called House of Ravenwood I bought a piece of statuary that is a Merlin/Wotan – Odin. The workers and I thought it to be Odin. The box called him Merlin, but to me he is an Odin as the wanderer piece.

From my friend Seamus’ shop The Magical Druid I picked up a beautiful copper bracelet with pentacles on it. I also picked up a gorgeous piece of peacock ore, and a nice chunk of Black Tourmaline.

And a new oracle deck called The Halloween Oracle. The imagery on this deck is beautiful. I love Halloween, so this deck is right up my alley.

I shuffled until a card popped out as a simple one card spread and I got the card:

Nightsong – Hidden Talents:  Should this beautiful but shy bird sing to you by appearing during your divination, know that you must unwrap the present of yourself. Look! Some of the gifts within you remain unopened! The time has come to step into your true potential and claim all possibilities for yourself. There is no more time to waste. No more excuses! – Stacey Demarco

I am so excited to continue working with this deck. I think it is quickly going to become a favorite.

My younger sister has gifted me with a beautiful picture which I am planning to frame to add to my altar space. I have no idea where it is from, or who the artist is, so if you know them please let me know.

I also made a trip last Thursday to my friend Heather’s shop Violet Flame Gifts in Newark. I was picking up the gorgeous drinking horn she made that was just begging to be owned by my husband. While I was there I found a gorgeous wand that I could not resist. Labradorite and Turquoise are two of my favorite stones. I am thinking of this as my Pisces wand, because of the shells and starfish motifs on it. I am so in love.

That is all, and enough, lol. Expect to see more of the oracle deck, and of that wand.

    Bright Blessings!
